GET READY TO GO CAMPING TODAY!

Thanks for your interest in our camper.  I thought this might be a better way to post more in-depth information, more pictures and include a detailed walk-through video as well.

Just 4 quick requests to keep wasted time to a bare minimum for both of us…

  • Please be sure to watch all of the videos I have posted (see below). Yes, they are very detailed (just over an hour for all of them), but they will save us both a LOT of time. I have nothing to hide with this, so I try to go into as much detail as possible about everything related to this camper, so that you can get a very good overall picture of what it comes with and it’s condition. I cover everything, including all functions, all accessories included, and I even take time to go up on the roof.
  • I will not accept personal checks as payment, so please don’t ask. Cash and cashier’s checks are all that I will accept. And I will definitely need to verify the cashier’s check with the bank first. If you are getting financing, I cannot hold this until your loan is approved. I’ve already missed out on a sale because I waited for someone who was getting a loan together and then they could not finalize it.
  • Please, please, please make sure you can comfortably tow a trailer with a weight rating of 5,328lbs (loaded). Empty weight is 4,197lbs. Tongue weight is approximately 458lbs. I’ve had a couple of people who have been interested, but they don’t have the capacity to safely tow this. It’s not a big trailer by any means, but if your towing capacity is 3,000lbs you’re going to struggle with this.

Thanks!

Camping just outside the Grand Canyon

Here’s a great introductory video of the IBEX 19QBS, from Josh “The RV Nerd” (this first video is not mine). His channel is great at explaining the good and the bad about all kinds of travel trailers. My videos go into more of the details about this actual unit that is for sale, and what’s included, but I’m not nearly as good at walking through and explaining the in’s and out’s on these as he is. So watch this video to get a good overview of this model, and then you can watch my videos as I walk through my actual camper that I have for sale. Note: I’m not sure why he has that this model is under 4,000lbs in the video thumbnail, because these have a dry weight of 4,197lbs.

WHY I LOVE THIS CAMPER

This is one of the most versatile small campers you can get, and we have LOVED it! Every time my wife and I go camping, we always end up telling each other how perfect our setup is. And it is perfect for us.  I wouldn’t even be selling it had we not found another one with a similar floorplan that also included an unbelievable solar package.

It’s hard to find travel trailers this size that include a residential Queen bed, tons of storage and are also fully functional in “road mode” (slide in, just how it travels down the highway).  But in this IBEX, you can stop at a rest area, fix lunch, cook on the stove, use the restroom, take a shower and even take a nap if you want to.  In a lot of smaller campers, at least some function will be blocked by the slide.

We have stopped in something as simple as a Walmart parking lot and had a few hours of rest, without looking like we are camped out…and we’ve done the same thing in the amazing scenery of the Painted Desert.  It’s just nice to be able to have that option.

VIDEO INTRODUCTION – QUICK INTRO VIDEO ABOUT OUR IBEX 19QBS

QUICK INTRODUCTION TO OUR IBEX 19QBS

SIZE

The 23ft length on this IBEX camper, gives us the ability to camp in some pretty tight places.
Length

The IBEX 19QBS is only 23ft long.  This is the perfect length camper for us.  You still get plenty of room inside, but you also have a travel trailer that is is easy to navigate down narrow roadways.  You can fit into smaller camp spots as seen in the picture above.  If you stop at a grocery store, it’s easy to fit across two parking spots without taking up a lot space and getting in the way of others.  Even though our new camper is only about a foot longer, I’m definitely going to miss how compact the IBEX is and it is also very easy to maneuver.

The width on the IBEX 19QBS makes it ultra easy to tow, since it is only 7ft 4inches wide. Additionally, it also has an exterior height of just 10ft 6 inches. So not only is it compact, it’s also relatively short.

Weight

It’s also very lightweight.  It has an empty weight of just 4,197lbs and a fully loaded weight rating of 5,328lbs.  This gives you a cargo capacity of 1,131lbs.  With a hitch weight of 458lbs, it is easily towable with a full size pick up truck and would even be ok for a lot of SUV’s.  You would just need to check your vehicle’s towing capacity.

Other Specs
  • Fresh Water Capacity: 30 gallons
  • Grey Water Capacity: 30 gallons
  • Black Water Capacity: 30 gallons
  • Refrigerator Type: Electric/Gas
  • A/C: Dometic 15,000 BTU
  • Awning Size: 14ft
  • Sleeps 3
  • 1,000 Watt Inverter
  • 100 Watt Solar Panel

THE PERFECT COUPLES CAMPER

Whether you are camping by yourself or with your significant other, the IBEX 19QBS is a fantastic travel trailer for such a compact size. The interior is spacious and full of storage options. And as mentioned above, it includes the full size Queen bed, whereas many smaller campers utilize a “short” Queen.

With tons of interior room, and an additional large under bed storage area, not to mention the large pass-through storage at the front, it allows you to be fully stocked up and ready for long stretches of camp life.

WHAT’S INCLUDED? EVERYTHING!!

This camper comes with EVERY SINGLE THING you need to start camping right away!  R3 weight distribution hitch, all electrical accessories and connections…including a 3800 watt inverter generator, all water connections, all sewer connections, leveling blocks, LevelMatePro, extra fuel jugs, extra water jugs, and much more! The only thing you will need to add is some dishes, cookware, utensils and a couple of camp chairs.  We have EVERYTHING else you need!  Doesn’t matter if you are going to an RV resort, or out in the middle of nowhere in Utah, you will be covered.  We have always felt we have a great setup for a wide variety of camping situations, which has allowed us more flexibility with our trip planning and day-to-day stops while traveling.

GENERATOR

We’ve included a barely used WEN 3800 watt inverter generator.  You’re even going to get two 5 gallon fuel jugs.  Fill up the jugs and top off the generator before you get to your campsite, and you have the potential to not need to move for days!  Even at half load, you will easily get 8+ hours of run time…and that’s on just 2.2 gallons of gas!!

This generator is small enough to easily be carried in the back of a pickup truck.  I have a bed cover and it easily fit underneath, so that it stayed hidden and secure.  This generator has about 82 hours on it, and is very quiet only putting out around 57 decibels at a quarter load.  It will run the AC, microwave and anything else you need.

It not only has multiple 120V receptacles, it also has a 30amp connection so you don’t need an adapter from the camper, plus a couple of 5v USB connections.

This generator works flawlessly.  About the only issue it has intermittently is the fuel gauge doesn’t read correctly, but you can run this until it runs out of fuel and just refill, or top off before going to bed.

DUAL 100 AMP HOUR SELF-HEATING LITHIUM BATTERIES

This was one of the most recent upgrades I did to this camper, because we had no intention of selling.  We installed two 100AH Lithium batteries!!  I really wanted to keep these at a conventional Group 24 size, so that they could fit in the front battery tray without any issues.

These batteries are absolutely amazing!  Not only are they 100AH each, but they are also SELF HEATING, so you don’t have to worry about pulling them and putting them in storage when cold weather hits.

They also have an app you can install on your phone to monitor their condition, as well as a display screen on the batteries themselves.

You will have no problems at all with draining your batteries overnight while running the fridge, phone chargers, etc. even if you aren’t connected to anything.  You will have more than enough battery here.  The stock IBEX setup would have you waking up with batteries that are almost dead.

LEVELMATE PRO

LevelMate is the only patented Bluetooth RV leveling tool on the market, with fast, accurate single-person leveling. This thing is a game changer when it comes to leveling the camper. LevelMatePRO is an essential RV accessory that saves you time for leveling. It provides real-time feedback on how much and which corner to adjust to level your vehicle perfectly. This easy-to-use tool removes any guesswork and enables fast and accurate single-person leveling even at night or in low-light conditions.

You’ll also be getting the leveling blocks as well to make leveling the camper a breeze! Using the free IOS and Android apps, LevelMatePro+ provides real-time feedback, allowing you to adjust to reach the perfect level.

KEYLESS ENTRY

Just punch in your code and unlock your door. This is a great feature when camping and not wanting to carry your keys around with you. It does have a key as well, so if you lose battery power, you will be able to gain access. I’ve changed batteries once, but they were the originals that came with it, and I’m not sure how good they were to begin with. Other than that, this has worked really well for us.

You are able to change the code to whatever you prefer. I actually felt like this latch worked better than the original one that came with the camper from the factory. It just seems “smoother” when locking.

Having a keyless entry like this is perfect when you are out hiking, swimming, or just taking your trash out and you don’t necessarily want to have to carry your keys with you. I never really thought it was that big of a deal, until we got this and now it is definitely one of my “must have” upgrades.

Other Items To Make Dry Camping / Boondocking Easier

You may not be interested in boondocking without connections, and that is perfectly fine.  This camper is perfect for any type of setting…connected or not!  We’ve just made it easier to boondock, by including all of the things that we kept on hand for those types of adventures.

We are including a BRAND NEW NEVER USED Camco Rhino 15 gallon portable tank.  This is perfect for when you are camped without connections nearby, or just need to take a few gallons out of the system so you can extend your stay in the more rural areas.

It’s perfect for black tanks or grey tanks, although I never used it, my intention was to only use it as a grey water tank, since taking showers, doing dishes, etc. tends to fill up the holding tank the fastest.  It’s easy to transport, and has all of the accessories included with it.

I have never emptied grey tanks on public lands, and don’t intend to, even though I know you are allowed to on BLM land.  They actually refer to it as “wash water”.  Still though, if you empty your grey tank and you have access to a dump station that’s relatively close, it would definitely be best to use that.

VIDEO WALK-THROUGH OF OUR IBEX 19QBS

The following are video segments of each area of the travel trailer so you can see exactly what is included and if you are new to camping, I went into detail about how things work, how to connect components, etc. If you are an experienced camper, a lot of this is going to be trivial, but I wanted to just explain things as I would have wanted them explained when I was first looking.

There may be things left out of these videos that you have questions about, and that is fine. PLEASE do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have about this. I don’t mind even going back through and videoing something else that you want to see. If you want me to check something specific and send you a video of it, I am more than happy to do so. My goal is for you to get as much information as possible before even making the trip to look in person.

I tried to cut down some of the rambling in these videos to shorten them up some, so that’s why the edits are a little choppy, but I tend to go on and on and get off track some when talking about this stuff haha.

PRICE COMPARISON

If you get financed, you may need a JD Power report. This is the valuation they gave for this camper’s base model with no options.

I don’t really sell big items like this often.  Maybe every 3 or 4 years I might do an upgrade and sell whatever I’m currently using to move up to something different or a bit newer.  And I don’t like the whole…”what’s the lowest you’ll take”…conversations.  I usually price things for what I think they are worth.  I don’t really care to spend a lot of time haggling.  So I’m not going to put up a price that’s way high, hoping to have room to negotiate down to fool the buyer into thinking they got a better deal.  It just saves us both a lot of time.  I’m pretty firm on prices, and I take a lot of factors into account but feel free to reach out and make an offer.  I look at what other similar units are selling for and I also try to throw in as much information and “extras” as possible that other sellers would never think about including.  That’s why you can buy this camper with literally EVERYTHING you would need to go camp in the middle of the desert as soon as you drive away.  About the only thing you will need to add is your own utensils, cookware and some camp chairs.  That’s it!  So when I look at prices of other campers out there, this exact same model, I can already tell that the price I’m selling this for is well below what all of them are selling for, because I try to include everything that you might need.  For reference, here are the listings on RV Trader for this exact same model Ibex for about every year they’ve been produced and you can see the huge swing in price but none of those campers include anything with them, much less all of the accessories and upgrades this one does.

INDEPENDENT INSPECTION

You are more than welcome to have a professional inspector come out and walk through everything. In fact I recommend you have one done.  I have tried to be as thorough as I can in the videos for this listing, but there may be other things they know to look for that I don’t. Even if you don’t buy this camper, it’s always good to hire someone to go over any camper you are looking to buy. On average, the price for a professional inspection can range anywhere from $400 to $600 and is worth every penny.

I know that I feel comfortable enough with this camper to hook up today and go anywhere in the country for weeks at a time.  But I want you to feel that comfortable as well.

I can make arrangements to meet them where we keep it stored. There are many options for mobile RV techs that will do thorough inspections.  However, I will not hook up and pull it to a dealership and wait for them to complete everything.  I also won’t hold it for you until an inspection is done.  Not trying to be rude about it, but this is going to be first come, first served.  Is buying a used camper a risk?  Absolutely!  But I’ve tried to cover everything I can think of in the videos, including walking up on the roof, which is something you won’t find many sellers doing on their own accord.

By all means if you have ANY questions at all…and I mean ANYTHING that you would like me to check out for you, I will be happy to do so.  If you want me to walk through something else and video it as I do, I will be glad to do that for you.  I will help you however I can, to cover as much detail as possible so that you feel confident in what you are getting before you even get here.

BUYING USED VS. NEW

There are many advantages and disadvantages to buying new or used.  Neither is definitely better than the other.  I personally tend to buy used.  That’s just my preference, and I’ll explain why.  When you buy used…especially something that has been well maintained like this camper has been…then you are typically going to be saving thousands of dollars over the cost of a new camper.  The biggest trade-off for buying used, is that in most cases, the factory warranty does not transfer over.

But let’s take a moment and really dig into the value of a factory warranty.  If you have been a part of any of the RV groups on Facebook, Reddit, etc. you are going to see post after post where RV warranty work has taken MONTHS to be completed.  This work usually has to be completed at a certified dealer of your travel trailer brand.  If you happen to have a note on your camper, that means you are literally paying for something every month that you don’t even have the option to use.

I personally have seen people who have had to cancel planned vacations because it had taken many months to get relatively simple repairs completed under warranty.

But here’s how my brain works on the subject…I can usually find high quality campers for decent prices.  You can walk through and determine if the thing has been run ragged or not.  You are going to see wear and tear show up in these pretty easily.  My ideal camper is one that has been used a bit…but not completely worn out…just enough so that the original owner worked out most of the gremlins from the initial factory build and had them repaired.  So I get them after they are fully “road tested”.  That also means I’ll end up saving a substantial amount of money versus buying new.  Sure I cancel out the benefit of having a warranty, if you want to call it a benefit since it takes months for warranty work to be done, but the money I saved gets allocated so that I can have a sort of “repair fund” to handle things that may break or have issues.  Then I can go to a professional RV repair shop, or sometimes just a trailer service center, and get any repairs done very quickly.

One example would be on the IBEX listed here.  Driving through Arizona we hit a pretty large pothole at night on some backroad we were on.  The next day, I just did not like the toe-in on the passenger side tire.  I had never paid any attention to it, but I didn’t remember it looking that bad, and I could see that the camper was leaning slightly to the right.  When we got back home, I just decided it would be better to play it safe and have the axle replaced.  I got the part number from Lippert, contacted my local trailer service center that I use, and had the new axle sent directly to them.  The axle got there in about a week, and since I had the tracking information I knew what day it was going to arrive so I dropped the camper off that day.  I picked it up the following day.  Total cost was about $950 for the axle and labor.  That $950 is a lot of money, but I also SAVED a lot of money by buying this unit used and I also got it back to me ready to hit the road about 4 months sooner than I probably would have under a warranty repair at a dealership.

There really is no right or wrong answer to buying new or used.  Both options are perfect for different people who might prefer one over the other.  For me personally, I will always buy used when I can.

WHERE TO STAY AND WHAT TO DO?

The reason why we loved this camper so much was that we had SO much flexibility.  No campgrounds were too small for us.  Boondocking was no issue at any site.  We weren’t traveling with a 40ft 5th wheel or something that required a lot of space, so it opened up the world to us.

Just outside our campground at Custer State Park in South Dakota

I have set this up to be a bit of an “off-grid” camper.  And since you will have a generator, some solar, and two good lithium batteries, there is really no limit as to where you can camp.  To me, camping at your typical campground is not that exciting.  Don’t get me wrong, we do it occasionally, but if that was all I did, I would have stopped doing this a long time ago.  We LOVE finding free camping and remote camping.  When we were at Valley Of The Gods, it was so quiet and still, I felt like I could hear my blood rushing through my body haha.  We had acres of land all to ourselves and other campers were spaced out well away from us.

Our camping spot at Valley Of The Gods Utah – YOU CAN DO THIS TOO!!!

If you haven’t camped before, or you are new to the hobby, I would HIGHLY recommend finding some channels on YouTube to get an idea of what folks are doing.  It’s easy to get hooked on some of the channels.  Even if you don’t care for them at first, they tend to grow on you, especially when you follow their cross-country travels.  Traveling Robert is one that I have watched for years, and he really gives a good overall view of what you can do with a small camper and some of the sites you can see throughout the entire country, all the way up into Alaska.

I also get State Park passes for Texas.  Not sure how they are in other states, but in Texas, the discounts pay for the pass in about two trips.  Same for National Park passes.  If you have them, sometimes it almost “forces” you to use them so you don’t feel like you wasted your money.

I also joined Harvest Hosts.  That is another alternative camping solution.  We’ve had some really cool experiences with this staying at farms, historical places, and more.  It’s technically “free” to stay at most places, but they recommend you buy something from the host.  It’s a fair trade for sure.  In Wyoming we stayed at a cool Alpaca farm, and bought some Alpaca wool items for family while we were there.  I would recommend looking into it, watching some YouTube videos about it and seeing if it may be something you are interested in.  It’s not for everyone, but does expand your camping options for sure.

This was a Harvest Host on an alpaca farm in Wyoming that we stayed at.

I will say that some of the places that used to host campers have dropped out of the program because of…well…people are jerks…so it’s just not worth the hassle to him.  It’s a shame though.  The first one we ever stayed at was an olive orchard here in Texas.  I had no idea they even had olive orchards in Texas.  The owner spent about an hour with us touring the orchard, explaining everything, and giving us different olive oils to try.  We spent a LOT of money there with them haha.

Also, apps like Campendium are good sources for free camping, as well as finding dump stations and other resources needed while traveling.

What you do and where you go is only limited by what you like to do.  I can tell you that I would have never dreamed in a million years I’d ever be sleeping on an Alpaca farm in the middle of Wyoming haha.

CLOSING

This IBEX 19QBS will bring you a lot of joy and it’s easy to maintain and take care of. Is it perfect? No. But it has everything you need and it’s been used a lot. And really, the best thing you can do is get a camper that’s actually been well used. Not beat up and worn out, but well used. These things don’t like to sit around…that’s when trouble starts. As you can see by pictures and information here, we have used and LOVED this camper a lot!

I look forward to hearing from you. And again, if you have any questions at all, do not hesitate to contact me. Let me know if there is anything else you would like me to address or show better pictures of or even do additional video of. Thanks again for reading through this monstrous listing, but I wanted to make sure I included as much information I could, especially for folks that are just getting into this.
